An easy to use utility that does six things that QuickBooks™ doesn't do!
Provides these options when exporting a Trial Balance to Excel:
1) Exports class codes for Profit & Loss expense accounts
2) Exports date ranges or "Net Change" in addition to "As of" dates
3) Exports account numbers in their own column instead of embedded with the description
4) Exports balances in one column instead of separate debit and credit columns
5) Provides a class code replacement table
6) Appends class codes before or after the account number
Do I need to be in QuickBooks to run TBX?
For the first time, in order to give TBX access rights.
You will need to be logged into the .QBW file and logged in as "Admin"
NEW!! Works in multi-user mode and operates without logging into the file after rights are set.
What columns are produced in the comma delimited file?
"Without classes as Departments:"
Acct Number, Acct Name, Acct Number (without class code)and Amount
"With class codes for P&L accounts:"
Acct Number, Acct Name, Class code, Class code w/Acct Number and Amount.
Note that once in a delimited file, you may delete any columns not needed by your target software.
What other options are available?
You may export either accounts with balances or all accounts in the chart even with zero balances.
What if my clients use alpha class codes and my software uses numerical department numbers?
You will be provided with a cross-reference table where you must replace the class codes with the same name,
another name or any number.
Will it handle Sub-classes or inactive classes?
YES! New version 2.1 will work with sub-class codes and inactive class codes.
Can TBX pull multiple trial balances in one export? For example: Net changes in monthly columns?
Coming in Version 3.0 (Hopefully before 2012)
What do you use TBX for?
We find that private compaies use TBX to get information into Excel for anylytical purposes and to transmit year end
figures to their auditors and tax accountants, but it is also perfect for CPA firms to create import files for programs
such as Creative Solutions Write-Up CS® or ProSystems fx Engagement.
